Wisdom of Athena uses the same base as the studio's other pays-anywhere slots. Eight or more identical symbols anywhere on the 6x5 board pay, the winners clear, new symbols drop in, and the tumble repeats until a drop produces no win. Multiplier symbols land at random with values from 2x to 500x, and at the end of the chain every multiplier on screen is added together and applied to the spin's total. A 2x and a 5x on a R30 win pay R210.

The twist is above the board. Six extra positions sit along the top, numbered 1, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15, and all start blocked. Each one opens once the spin's tumble count reaches a threshold: the first after one tumble, then after 4, 10, 19, 31 and 46. An open position is a live cell that can hold a paying symbol or a multiplier, so a long chain gets a bigger board to keep itself going. In the base game the row locks again on the next spin.

Four scatters give 10 free spins and change both rules. Positions you unlock stay open for the rest of the round, so the board grows across spins rather than resetting, and the multiplier total carries over too, building on every winning spin. Three or more scatters in the round add five spins. The 5,000x cap sits at the end of a round where the top row is fully open and a large multiplier total is sitting on a big win. That is a rare finish: the game's own figure for the cap is about one spin in 2.2 million.

Scorebet offers the ante bet, which adds 25% to the stake, R2 becomes R2.50, and doubles the scatter count on the reels. Where the bonus buy is offered it costs 100x the stake, R200 at R2, and goes straight to the 10 spins. The RTP is 96.07% at the base, a touch under Pragmatic's usual 96.5%, and bought rounds that never get past the first two or three top-row positions are the common losing shape.
