Chilli Heat slot

By Pragmatic Play. A Mexican fiesta: a grinning sun with a moustache, red chillies, tacos and a chihuahua on a hot orange and black board.

RTP: 96.50%
Volatility: Medium
Max win: 2,512x
Reels: 5x3, 25 paylines
Free spins: 8 free spins from 3 scatters on reels 2, 3 and 4
Released: 25 January 2018

Chilli Heat runs on a plain 5x3 board with 25 fixed paylines, so a R2.50 spin is the floor at 10 cents a line. The line wins are not the point. The money symbols are: each one shows a cash value from 1x to 100x the stake when it lands, and a few show the Mini (30x) or Major (100x) jackpot instead. In the base game they do nothing on their own. They are counted.

Six or more money symbols on one spin start the Money Respin. Those six lock, the rest of the board clears, and you get three respins to land more. Every new money symbol locks too and puts the counter back to three. When the respins run out, every locked value is added up and paid. Fill all 15 positions and the Grande jackpot pays 1,000x the stake instead, which is R2,500 on a R2.50 spin.

The sun scatter on reels 2, 3 and 4 opens 8 free spins. The twist is which symbols go missing: the card royals are removed from the reels for the whole round, so every line hit is a premium one, the chilli, the taco, the chihuahua or the man with the moustache. Three more scatters add another 8 spins, and that can repeat without limit.

The volatility is medium and the 96.5% RTP is standard, so sessions tend to grind rather than swing. The 2,512x maximum needs a stacked free spins round, not the respins, which cap at the Grande. There is no bonus buy and no ante bet in the sources for this game, so the only way in is to spin. Scorebet carries it in the Pragmatic Play catalogue.

What the features do

Money symbols carry a cash value from 1x to 100x the stake, and some carry the Mini or Major jackpot instead
Money Respin: 6 or more money symbols lock in place and give 3 respins, with the counter reset to 3 every time a new one lands
Grande jackpot: fill all 15 positions with money symbols during the respins and the round pays 1,000x the stake
Free spins: 8 spins where the low card symbols are removed, so only the higher paying symbols can land
Retrigger: 3 more scatters during the free spins add another 8, with no cap on how often

Before you spin

Count money symbols, not line wins. Five on screen is a near miss; six starts the only round that pays real money here.
A respin round that lands two or three extra symbols pays around 10x to 30x. Budget for that, not for the Grande.
The free spins are where the big number lives, because the royals are gone. Treat the respins as the steady earner and the scatters as the swing.

Chilli Heat questions

What is the RTP of Chilli Heat?

96.5% on the standard version. Operators can run 95.5% or 94.5% builds, and the figure is a long-run average across millions of spins, not a promise for one session.

How does the Money Respin feature work?

Land 6 or more money symbols on one spin. They lock, the board clears, and you get 3 respins. Each new money symbol locks and resets the count to 3. When the respins end, every locked value is added together and paid. All 15 positions filled pays the 1,000x Grande jackpot.

What is the maximum win on Chilli Heat?

2,512 times the stake, which comes from a free spins round rather than the respins. The respin round tops out at the 1,000x Grande jackpot.

Does Chilli Heat have a bonus buy?

No. None of the sources list a bonus buy or an ante bet for the original Chilli Heat. The free spins and the respins both have to land naturally.

Can I play Chilli Heat in South Africa?

Yes. Scorebet is licensed by the Northern Cape Gambling Board and carries the Pragmatic Play slots catalogue, Chilli Heat included. Players must be 18 or older.
