Starlight Princess runs the exact maths that made Gates of Olympus famous, and Pragmatic Play does not hide it. The grid is 6x5, there are no paylines, and any 8 or more matching symbols anywhere on screen pay out. Winners clear, new symbols tumble into the gaps, and the spin keeps going until nothing new connects. The low symbols are coloured gems, the high ones are the princess's star, moon and sun charms, and the princess herself is the scatter.

Multiplier symbols appear in the base game and the feature with values from 2x to 500x. They do nothing on their own. When the tumbling stops, every multiplier on the board is added together and applied once to the total of that spin. Two 5x symbols and a 25x on a R40 spin that won R30 pays 35 times R30, which is R1,050. In the base game the count resets to zero on the next spin.

Four or more scatters trigger 15 free spins, and this is where the design changes. Every multiplier that lands on a winning spin is added to a running total that stays for the rest of the round, so by spin ten you may be applying a 120x total to every win. Three scatters during the feature add five spins. The 5,000x cap lives here. So does the pain: many rounds finish under 20x the stake because the multipliers landed on dead boards.

Scorebet runs the 96.5% version. The ante bet costs 25% more per spin, so R2 becomes R2.50, and doubles the number of scatters on the reels. The bonus buy, where offered, costs 100x the stake for one round, R200 on a R2 bet. Both are ways to reach the feature faster, neither improves the RTP, and the buy returns under its price more often than not.

What the features do

  • Pays anywhere: 8 or more matching symbols on the 6x5 grid pay, no paylines involved
  • Tumble: winning symbols vanish and new ones fall in, so one spin can pay several times before it stops
  • Multiplier symbols from 2x to 500x: every one on screen when the tumbles end is added up and applied to that spin's total win
  • Free spins: the multiplier total no longer resets, it keeps building across all 15 spins
  • Retrigger: 3 scatters during the round add 5 more spins
  • Ante bet: pay 25% more per spin to double the chance of triggering the free spins
  • Bonus buy: 100x the stake takes you straight into the free spins where it is offered

Before you spin

  1. If you already play Gates of Olympus, nothing changes except the art. Do not stake more because the grid looks softer.
  2. The ante bet turns R2 into R2.50 a spin. Over 200 base spins that is an extra R100, about half a bonus buy, so pick one route and stick with it.
  3. Multipliers only count on a spin that wins. Watching a 500x land on a board with no 8-of-a-kind is normal, and it pays nothing.
  4. Decide your stop before you buy a R200 feature. A single round deciding under 20x is the common outcome, not the rare one.

Starlight Princess questions

Is Starlight Princess the same as Gates of Olympus?

Mechanically, yes. Same 6x5 pays-anywhere grid, same 2x to 500x multiplier symbols, same 15 free spins with an accumulating total, same 96.5% RTP and 5,000x cap. The symbols, music and art are different.

What is the RTP of Starlight Princess?

96.5% on the standard setting. Pragmatic Play also supplies 95.51% and 94.5% versions, so check the paytable inside the game at your operator.

How much is the ante bet on Starlight Princess?

25% on top of the stake, so a R2 spin becomes R2.50. In return the reels carry twice as many scatters, which roughly doubles how often the free spins trigger.

What is the max win on Starlight Princess?

5,000 times the stake, which is R10,000 on a R2 spin. The round ends as soon as that cap is reached.

Can I play Starlight Princess in South Africa?

Yes. Scorebet is licensed by the Northern Cape Gambling Board and carries the Pragmatic Play catalogue, Starlight Princess included. Players must be 18 or older.
