Sugar Rush came out in mid 2022 and is the game Sugar Rush 1000 was built on. There are no paylines. Any group of 5 or more matching sweets that touch each other on the 7x7 grid pays, with 15 or more as the top band. The winning cluster is removed, the symbols above drop down, new ones fill in from the top, and the spin keeps paying until nothing new connects.

The multipliers are tied to grid positions, not symbols. A spot that forms part of a win gets a marker. If that same spot wins again in the same spin it becomes 2x, a third win makes it 4x, and so on, doubling with each hit up to 128x. When a cluster lands over marked spots, all their multipliers are added together and applied to that cluster. The middle of the grid sees the most tumbles, so that is where the big spots build.

In the base game the markers wipe at the end of every spin, which keeps most base-game results under a few times the stake. The free spins change that. Three to seven scatters give 10, 12, 15, 20 or 30 spins, the markers and their values stay on the grid for the whole round, and three or more scatters inside the round add more spins. The 5,000x cap, R10,000 at R2 a spin, comes from a grid that has already stacked a few 64x and 128x positions before a large cluster lands on them.

Scorebet carries the Pragmatic Play catalogue, and the bonus buy is offered where the game settings allow. It costs 100x the stake, R200 at R2 a spin, for one free spins round. The standard RTP is 96.5%, with 95.5% and 94.5% settings available to operators, and reviews rate the volatility at the top of Pragmatic's own scale even though the cap is a modest 5,000x.

What the features do

  • Cluster pays: 5 or more of the same sweet touching each other on the 7x7 grid pay, and bigger clusters pay more
  • Tumble: winning clusters are cleared and the grid refills from above, and the spin runs on until no new cluster appears
  • Position multipliers: a spot that wins twice in a single spin is marked with 2x, and each further win on that spot doubles it up to 128x
  • Free spins: marked spots and their multipliers stay on the grid for the entire round instead of resetting, and 3 more scatters add spins
  • Bonus buy: 100x the stake goes straight into the free spins where it is offered

Before you spin

  1. Judge a session by tumbles, not spins. A single spin that tumbles six times through the centre has done more for the multipliers than ten spins that stop at one win.
  2. Reaching 128x on a spot takes seven wins on the same square. It happens in long free spins rounds, almost never in the base game, so do not chase it at a big stake.
  3. The bought round at R200 can finish with no marked spots above 4x and pay back a few rand. Decide how many buys you can afford before the first one.
  4. If the bigger numbers tempt you, Sugar Rush 1000 is the same game with a 1,024x ceiling and a 25,000x cap, at the cost of more volatility. Pick one deliberately.

Sugar Rush questions

What is the RTP of Sugar Rush?

The standard version returns 96.5% over the long run. Operators can also run 95.5% or 94.5% settings. The bonus buy does not change the RTP where it is offered.

What is the max win on Sugar Rush?

5,000x the stake, which is R10,000 at R2 a spin. The round ends when the cap is reached. The follow-up Sugar Rush 1000 raises it to 25,000x.

How do the Sugar Rush multipliers work?

A grid position that is part of a win gets marked. A second win on that spot in the same spin gives it 2x, and every further win on it doubles the value, up to 128x. The multipliers under a winning cluster are added together and applied to it. In the free spins the markers never reset.

How many free spins does Sugar Rush give?

Three scatters give 10, four give 12, five give 15, six give 20 and seven give 30. Three or more scatters during the round add more at the same rates, with no fixed limit on the total.
