Gates of Olympus is the most played Pragmatic Play slot in the world for a simple reason: the maths is easy to feel. There are no paylines. Land eight or more of the same symbol anywhere on the 6x5 grid and it pays, the winning symbols clear, and new ones tumble into the gaps. One spin can chain three or four wins before it settles.

The multiplier orbs are the whole game. Zeus drops them at random with values from 2x to 500x, and every orb on screen when a tumble sequence ends gets added together and applied to the total win of that spin. A 2x and a 10x land on a R20 win and it pays R240. In the base game the total resets every spin. In the free spins it does not.

That is why the free spins round is the event. Four scatters give you 15 spins, and every multiplier orb that lands on a winning spin is added to a running total that applies to every win for the rest of the round. Three more scatters add five spins. The 5,000x max win lives here, and so does the volatility: plenty of rounds pay under 20x, and the base game can run cold for a long stretch while you wait.

Scorebet offers the ante bet, which costs 25% more per spin and doubles the number of scatters on the reels. Where the bonus buy is offered it costs 100x the stake. Neither changes the 96.5% RTP. They change how fast you reach the feature, and how fast a budget goes.

What the features do

  • Tumbling reels: winning symbols clear and new ones drop in, so one spin can chain several wins
  • Multiplier orbs from 2x to 500x that land at random and add up across the tumble
  • Free spins: the multiplier total carries over and keeps growing for the whole round
  • Retrigger: 3 scatters during free spins add 5 more
  • Ante bet: stake 25% more to double the chance of hitting the free spins
  • Bonus buy: pay 100x the stake to go straight into the free spins where it is offered

Before you spin

  1. Decide the stake before the ante bet. R2 becomes R2.50 a spin with it on, and the extra adds up over a long base game.
  2. Treat a bonus buy as a full stake. At R2 a spin that is R200 for one round, and a round can pay back under 20x.
  3. Big multiplier orbs only matter on a winning spin. A 500x on a dead board pays nothing.
  4. Set a stop before the free spins land, not after. The round feels like a win before it has paid anything.

Gates of Olympus questions

What is the RTP of Gates of Olympus?

The standard version returns 96.5% to players over the long run. Some operators run lower settings, and the figure is a long-run average, so a session can land far either side of it.

What is the maximum win on Gates of Olympus?

5,000 times the stake. At R2 a spin that is R10,000, and the game ends the round the moment that cap is hit.

How do the multipliers work?

Multiplier orbs land at random with values from 2x to 500x. When a tumble sequence ends, every orb on the screen is added together and applied to that spin's total win. In the free spins the total carries over for the whole round instead of resetting.

How do you trigger the free spins?

Four or more scatter symbols anywhere on the grid give 15 free spins. Three scatters during the round add five more. The ante bet doubles the number of scatters on the reels for 25% more per spin.
