Big Bass Bonanza Megaways takes the original game's symbols and drops them onto six reels that change height on every spin, with up to 46,656 ways to win. The return is 96.7% in the standard version and the volatility is high. Line wins follow the Megaways rule, matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left in any position, but as with every game in this series the paytable is the sideshow. The money is in the fish and the fisherman.

Fish symbols carry a cash value up to 4,000x the stake, which is also the max win of the game. In the free spins a fisherman wild collects every fish on the screen, and the taller reels are the point of the format: a spin with every reel at full height has a lot more positions for fish and a lot more positions for the fisherman than a 5x3 board. The flip side is a short board, where two or three symbols per reel leave very little room for either.

The sixth reel also adds a sixth scatter. Three, four, five or six scatters give 10, 15, 20 or 25 free spins. Every fourth fisherman collected adds 10 spins and moves the round up a level, from 1x to 2x, then 3x, then 10x. A R40 fish is R40 at level one and R400 at level four, so a round that reaches the fourth level on a tall board is where the 4,000x cap becomes possible.

The route into the feature on Scorebet is the scatters, so the cost of the session is the base game at your stake, and the base game can run long and quiet between rounds. Scorebet carries Big Bass Bonanza Megaways in its Pragmatic Play catalogue under its Northern Cape Gambling Board licence. You need to be 18 or older to play.

What the features do

  • Megaways: each of the six reels shows a different number of symbols every spin, up to 46,656 ways to win
  • Money fish: fish land with a cash value up to 4,000x the stake and pay in the free spins when a fisherman wild lands on the same spin
  • Fisherman wild: collects every fish on the screen and adds to the meter
  • Retrigger: every fourth fisherman adds 10 spins and raises the multiplier, 2x then 3x then 10x
  • Six scatters: the sixth reel means a sixth scatter is possible, giving 25 free spins from the start

Before you spin

  1. Six scatters for 25 spins is possible but rare. Most rounds start from three scatters and 10 spins, so judge a trigger by what the fisherman do, not by the starting count.
  2. Tall reels are good news in the free spins and nothing much in the base game. Do not raise the stake because the board has been showing seven symbols a reel.
  3. The multiplier applies from the spin after the fourth fisherman. A fish collected by that fourth fisherman still pays at the old level.
  4. R2 a spin on 46,656 ways is R2 a spin. Megaways does not change the price, only how the symbols line up.

Big Bass Bonanza Megaways questions

What is the RTP of Big Bass Bonanza Megaways?

96.7% in the standard version. Pragmatic Play also supplies 95.66% and 94.62% settings, so check the figure in the game's info screen where you play.

What is the max win on Big Bass Bonanza Megaways?

4,000 times the stake, R8,000 at R2 a spin. A single fish can carry that value, and the level four 10x multiplier on smaller fish is the other way to reach it.

How many ways to win are there?

Up to 46,656. Six reels each show a different number of symbols on every spin, and the ways are the product of the reel heights, so a short board has far fewer ways than a tall one.

How many free spins can you get?

10, 15, 20 or 25 from three, four, five or six scatters. Every fourth fisherman wild collected during the round adds 10 more spins and raises the multiplier to 2x, 3x and then 10x.
