Bigger Bass Bonanza is the second game in the series and the first to change the shape of the board. The grid is 5x4 with 12 paylines, up from 5x3 and 10, which puts 20 symbols on screen instead of 15. The return is 96.71% in the standard version and the volatility is high. The theme moves from the lakeside to a tropical coast, with the fisherman in a Hawaiian shirt and sunglasses, but the mechanics are the same engine the whole series runs on.

Fish symbols carry a cash value, and in this game a single fish can hold up to 4,000x the stake, which is also the max win. In the base game the fish only pay as a line win: five on a payline pay their combined values. In the free spins they pay whenever a fisherman wild lands on the same spin, because the fisherman collects every fish on screen. The extra row matters here. Four rows is one more place for the fisherman to land and one more row of fish for him to pick up.

Three, four or five scatters give 10, 15 or 20 free spins. Every fisherman that lands is collected on a meter, and every fourth one adds 10 spins and moves the round up a level. Level two pays fish at 2x, level three at 3x and level four at 10x. A round can run to 50 spins with the retriggers. A R30 fish is R30 at level one and R300 at level four, so the length of the round decides almost everything about what it pays.

The feature only comes through the scatters on Scorebet, so the budget is the base game at your stake. The base game pays small line wins and the occasional five-fish line while you wait, and it can wait a long time. Scorebet carries Bigger Bass Bonanza in its Pragmatic Play catalogue, licensed by the Northern Cape Gambling Board, for players aged 18 and over.

What the features do

  • Four rows: the grid is 5x4 instead of the original's 5x3, so there is one more row of fish and wilds on every spin
  • Money fish: fish land with a cash value, up to 4,000x the stake on one symbol, and pay only when a fisherman wild lands with them during the free spins
  • Fisherman wild: collects every fish on the screen in that spin and adds to the collection meter
  • Retrigger: every fourth fisherman adds 10 spins, up to 50 spins in a round
  • Multiplier levels: the second level pays fish at 2x, the third at 3x and the fourth at 10x
  • Base game fish: five fish on a payline in the base game pay their combined values without a fisherman

Before you spin

  1. Count fisherman, not fish. Three fisherman and a screen of fish is a decent round; the fourth one is what adds the spins and the multiplier.
  2. The extra row makes the base game a little busier than the original Big Bass Bonanza, but the feature still decides the session. Stake so that 100 dead spins does not end it.
  3. A 4,000x fish at level four is the cap, not the plan. Most rounds end at level one or two, so judge a round by whether it paid back the spins it took to trigger.
  4. Twelve paylines at R1 a spin is R1 a spin. The game does not charge per line, so the stake you set is the full cost.

Bigger Bass Bonanza questions

What is the RTP of Bigger Bass Bonanza?

96.71% in the standard version. Pragmatic Play also supplies 95.67% and 94.62% settings, so check the figure in the game's info screen where you play.

What is the max win on Bigger Bass Bonanza?

4,000 times the stake, R8,000 at R2 a spin. A single fish can carry that value, and the level four multiplier of 10x is the other way to reach it.

How is it different from Big Bass Bonanza?

The grid is 5x4 with 12 paylines instead of 5x3 with 10, the max win is 4,000x, and the theme moves to a tropical coast. The fisherman collect and the 2x, 3x and 10x levels work the same way.

How do the free spins work?
