Great Rhino Megaways shares a name with the 2018 original and almost nothing else. The grid is six reels of two to seven symbols with a horizontal reel across the top, up to 200,704 ways, and every win tumbles: the paying symbols clear, new ones fall, and the spin keeps paying until nothing connects. There are no respins and no fixed jackpots. The whole game is built around the free spins and their multiplier.
Four scatters trigger the round and give you a choice. Fifteen spins starting at 1x, ten starting at 5x, or five starting at 10x. Five scatters add four spins to each option, six add eight, so the top end is 23, 18 or 13. Whichever you take, every tumble win inside the round adds 1x to a multiplier that applies to all wins and never resets until the round ends. A 10x start with a few tumbles is 14x on the next spin.
That multiplier is why the cap is 20,000x, four times a typical Pragmatic Megaways title. Three or more scatters during the round add five spins without limit, and a long round with a multiplier in the thirties is what reaches the ceiling. The other side of that is the volatility: five spins at 10x can be over with two dead boards, and 15 spins at 1x can finish at 6x having paid very little along the way.
The RTP on Pragmatic's own page is 96.50%, with lower builds at some operators. Scorebet carries the Pragmatic Play catalogue, so the ante bet is available, 25% more per spin for double the scatter frequency, and the bonus buy where offered costs 100x the stake, R200 at R2. The pick is part of the buy as well, so a bought round still asks you to choose spins against multiplier.
What the features do
- Tumbling reels: winning symbols clear and new ones drop in, so one spin can run several wins back to back
- Progressive multiplier in the bonus: every tumble win adds 1x to a round-wide multiplier that never resets until the free spins end
- Pick your round: 4 scatters offer 15 spins at 1x, 10 spins at 5x or 5 spins at 10x, and 5 or 6 scatters add 4 or 8 spins to each option
- Unlimited retriggers: 3 or more scatters during the round add 5 spins, as often as they land
- Ante bet: stake 25% more per spin to double the chance of hitting the free spins
- Bonus buy: pay 100x the stake to trigger the free spins directly where it is offered
Before you spin
- The multiplier only climbs on wins. The 15 spin option has more chances to build it; the 5 spin option starts higher but has almost no room to climb.
- Retriggers keep the multiplier. Five extra spins at 20x are worth more than the first five at 1x, so the round's value is back-loaded.
- A R200 buy at R2 can finish at 15x. The 20,000x cap is the ceiling, not the expectation, and most bought rounds land far below 100x.
- Pick the mystery option only when you do not mind not knowing. The three fixed options tell you exactly what you have before the first spin.
Great Rhino Megaways questions
What is the RTP of Great Rhino Megaways?
Pragmatic Play's own page lists 96.50% for the standard version. Some review sites quote 96.58%, and lower builds exist, so the game's info screen is the one that counts at the operator you play.
What is the maximum win on Great Rhino Megaways?
20,000 times the stake, one of the highest caps in the Pragmatic Play catalogue. At R2 a spin that is R40,000, and the round ends the moment it is hit.
How does the free spins choice work?
Four scatters offer 15 spins at 1x, 10 spins at 5x or 5 spins at 10x. Five scatters add four spins to each, six add eight. Every tumble win in the round adds 1x to the multiplier, and it does not reset until the round is over.
Is Great Rhino Megaways the same as Great Rhino?
No. The original is a 20 payline, medium volatility slot with a 900x cap and a respin feature. The Megaways version is high volatility with tumbles, a climbing multiplier and a 20,000x cap.
Can I play Great Rhino Megaways in South Africa?
Yes. Scorebet carries the Pragmatic Play catalogue under its Northern Cape Gambling Board licence. Players must be 18 or older and registered.
