Sweet Bonanza slot

By Pragmatic Play. A candy land of lollipops, jelly hearts and gummy sweets drifting over pink and cream clouds, with fruit as the lower symbols.

RTP: 96.51%
Max win: 21,175x
Reels: 6x5 grid, pays anywhere
Free spins: 10 free spins from 4 or more scatters
Released: 27 June 2019

Sweet Bonanza was released in June 2019 and still sits near the top of Pragmatic Play's list because the rules fit in one breath. Land 8 or more of the same symbol anywhere on the 6x5 grid and it pays. The winners clear, more symbols fall in, and it keeps going until nothing new lines up. Fruit pays little, the heart and the sweets pay more, and 12 or more of a kind is the top band for every symbol.

The one thing to understand about the money is that the rainbow bombs do not appear in the base game. They are worth 2x to 100x each, they only land during the free spins, and when a tumble sequence ends every bomb on screen is added together and applied to that spin's full win. Two bombs of 10x and 25x on a R40 spin win pay R1,400. Unlike Gates of Olympus the total does not carry from spin to spin: each free spin starts the count again.

Four, five or six lollipop scatters give 10 free spins and three more scatters inside the round add 5. The 21,175x max win sits in that round, and so does nearly all of the swing. The volatility is rated medium to high, which in practice means the base game pays small and often, the free spins usually pay modestly, and the big results come from a single spin that stacks several bombs on a large tumble.

Scorebet carries the Pragmatic Play catalogue, so the ante bet and the bonus buy are offered where the game settings allow. The ante bet adds 25% to each spin and doubles the lollipops on the reels, so R2 becomes R2.50. The bonus buy costs 100x the stake, R200 at R2 a spin, and drops you straight into the 10 free spins. The 96.51% RTP does not move either way.

What the features do

Pays anywhere: 8 or more matching fruits or sweets on the 6x5 grid pay no matter where they sit, and 12 or more pay the top tier
Tumble: every winning group is cleared and replaced from above, and the spin keeps paying until no new group of 8 appears
Multiplier bombs: in the free spins, rainbow bombs worth 2x to 100x land at random, and every bomb on screen when the tumbles stop is added up and applied to that spin's total
Free spins: 4, 5 or 6 lollipop scatters give 10 spins, and 3 more scatters during the round add 5
Ante bet: stake 25% more per spin to double the number of scatters on the reels
Bonus buy: 100x the stake goes straight into the free spins where it is offered

Before you spin

Nothing in the base game can pay big, so judge your stake by how long you are willing to wait for lollipops, not by what a tumble looks like.
The bombs reset every free spin. A 100x bomb on a spin with no win is worth nothing, and nothing is carried to the next spin.
A R200 bonus buy at R2 a spin can pay back under 10x. Treat each buy as the full price of one round, not as an investment.
Twelve or more of a symbol is the top band. A 9-of-a-kind on hearts pays far less than 12 on grapes, so watch the count, not the symbol.

Sweet Bonanza questions

What is the RTP of Sweet Bonanza?

The standard version returns 96.51% over the long run. Some operators run it at 95.45% or lower. The figure is an average across millions of spins, so any one session can finish well above or below it.

What is the max win on Sweet Bonanza?

21,175x the stake, which is R42,350 at R2 a spin. It needs a large tumble with several high rainbow bombs on screen during the free spins. The round ends when the cap is reached.

Do the multiplier bombs appear in the base game?

No. The rainbow bombs, worth 2x to 100x, only land during the free spins. When a tumble sequence ends, all bombs on screen are added together and applied to that spin's win, and the count starts again on the next spin.

How do you trigger the free spins on Sweet Bonanza?

Four or more lollipop scatters anywhere on the grid give 10 free spins. Three or more scatters during the round add 5. The ante bet doubles the lollipops on the reels for 25% more per spin, and the bonus buy costs 100x the stake.

Can I play Sweet Bonanza in South Africa?

Yes. Scorebet is licensed by the Northern Cape Gambling Board and carries the Pragmatic Play slots catalogue. You need to be 18 or older and registered to play.
